Sateliot, pioneering the integration of a Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) 5G IoT satellite constellation into cellular networks, announces a partnership with SpaceX for the imminent launch of four satellites. This initiative marks the commencement of Sateliot's first constellation phase and the beginning of its commercial operations.

Joining two existing satellites, the launch signifies Sateliot's stride into commercial service, aiming to connect an estimated 7 million IoT devices globally. The company highlights partnerships with industry giants such as Indra, Cellnex, and Sepides and projects to initiate billing euro 187 million in confirmed orders across 350 clients in over 50 countries.

This expansion is underpinned by a recent euro 13.5 million funding round, featuring significant contributions from Banco Santander and support from Avancsa. This financial injection is critical for advancing Sateliot's technological development, facilitating the satellite launches, and fortifying its team towards achieving global real-time coverage by 2027/2028.

The upcoming satellites, designed as 4 cubesats each measuring 20 x 10 x 35 centimeters and weighing 10 kilograms, are slated to operate at an altitude of 500 to 600 kilometers, offering a five-year lifespan and planet-wide coverage. Their core technology, endorsed by the European Space Agency (ESA) and 3GPP, promises standard, scalable, and maintenance-friendly solutions, supporting a diverse range of IoT applications.

Sateliot's approach differentiates by providing initial-phase connectivity services that scale up to real-time global coverage, contrasting with competitors who require a more extensive satellite network for launch. The company's mission, reinforced by CEO Jaume Sanpera's vision, positions Sateliot and Spain as leaders in the satellite IoT sector and the burgeoning New Space industry.
