Momentus Inc. (NASDAQ: MNTS) has announced a partnership with CalgaryToSpace (CTS), a student team from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, dedicated to building and operating a satellite in orbit. The collaboration involves Momentus providing transportation and orbital delivery services for CTS in 2025.

CTS has been working diligently towards the development and launch of their satellite, known as CTS-SAT-1. This satellite carries two cutting-edge payloads, the first being a Miniaturized Plasma Imager, designed for studying auroral arcs near the Earth's poles. Dr. Johnathan Burchill is the brain behind this innovative scientific platform. The second payload is a flexible carbon fiber boom, manufactured using a patent-pending 3D printing technique, a creation by PhD candidate Nick Elderfield.

Kaleigh Beer, President of CalgaryToSpace, expressed her excitement about the partnership, saying, "The CalgaryToSpace team is very excited to be working with Momentus to launch our city's first student-developed satellite. It's amazing to see the strides being made in the aerospace industry, with companies like Momentus helping to make space missions feasible for student teams. We thank Momentus for providing this opportunity to realize our mission, and RIDE! space for their invaluable guidance through the launch services procurement process."

Momentus Chief Commercial Officer Chris Kinman shared his thoughts on the collaboration, stating, "We leveraged our partnership with RIDE! space to serve as the transportation provider for CTS' mission, and we're pleased to be entrusted to support their first trip to orbit."

This partnership with CalgaryToSpace marks Momentus' seventh commercial contract announcement since August, showcasing the company's continued growth in the space industry. Among their recent contracts are agreements with AVS, FOSSA, Aarhus, C3S, SatRev, and RIDE! space.

In addition to their collaboration with CalgaryToSpace, Momentus is actively booking rideshare and hosted payload customers on upcoming SpaceX missions. These include the SpaceX Transporter-11 mission, targeted for no earlier than June 2024, and the SpaceX Transporter-12 mission, scheduled for no earlier than October 2024.
