Denver-based aerospace company York Space Systems (York) has reported establishing communication with its BANE spacecraft shortly after launch. The satellite, carried aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base on December 1. York confirmed that it made successful first contact with the spacecraft on its first attempt, within just three hours following its deployment. Moreover, all spacecraft systems were reported to be healthy and safe.

This mission underscores York's capabilities as a comprehensive solution provider in the space industry. The company's seamless integration of satellite design, construction, launch services, software, and ground segments was prominently featured in the BANE mission, highlighting their commitment to delivering end-to-end solutions at a pace that sets them apart in the industry.

Melanie Preisser, Executive Vice President at York Space Systems, expressed pride in the company's latest accomplishment. "We are proud to have successfully executed another commercial mission, showcasing our ultra-streamlined commercial acquisition and execution approach," said Preisser. She emphasized York's role as an end-to-end solution provider, meeting the evolving demands of both government and commercial customers in the space market.

York's integrated approach is designed to meet the rapidly evolving demands of the space market, with an increasing demand for American-made hardware and software. Their approach emphasizes swift execution without compromising on quality. The BANE mission is a testament to York's ability to effectively leverage existing production lines, rapidly scale, and streamline acquisition processes to meet the urgent requirements of their customers.

Furthermore, the BANE mission carries two significant commercial payloads. One is a Resilient Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) system from CACI International Inc., which is crucial for ensuring reliable navigation and timing information in space operations. The other payload is an Optical Communications demonstration, a key technology for high-speed data transfer in space missions.
