The U.S. Space Force's Space Systems Command (SSC), in coordination with SpaceCom, announces its second annual Space Mobility Conference to extend SSC's Assured Access to Space (AATS) mission through cooperation and collaboration with government, industry, allied, and academic partners.

The conference opens on Jan. 30, 2024, during Commercial Space Week, co-located with the Global Spaceport Alliance Spaceport Summit and SpaceCom | Space Congress at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida.

"We must continue to innovate and accelerate in order to achieve our objectives in, from and to space," said Brig. Gen. Kristin Panzenhagen, the program executive officer for Assured Access to Space, director of Launch and Range Operations for SSC, commander of Space Launch Delta 45, and director of Eastern Range.

"Space Mobility requires resilient and responsive launch systems, space-based capabilities that enable our national security satellites to maneuver without regret, and robust and secure ground-based infrastructure."

Conference topics will focus on Assured Access to Space and Mobility mission areas and the progress made since the inaugural Space Mobility Conference.

"We're extremely proud to host the Space Mobility Conference again," said Ryan Brown, executive director of SpaceCom. Our inaugural conference was a great success that brought broad, highly talented and thoughtful representation from the best that our government, industry and academia have to offer.

This coming year, we're going to build upon that foundation and move the ball downfield even further. Together with the Space Force and Space Systems Command, we're ensuring that everyone with a role or interest in this critical field has a chance to contribute and shape the way ahead. We'll see you there!"

Keynote speakers and panel discussions will present current program activities while offering a question-and-answer opportunity for audience participation. Attendees will be encouraged to share their technology and capability information which may aid in problem solving or help overcome obstacles to U.S. efforts in maintaining continued space superiority.

Tentative conference topics:

Access focused:
+ Launch Interfaces
+ Spaceports
+ Port Authority
+ Infrastructure
+ Plug-n-play Progress
+ Responsive Space

On-orbit focused:
+ Established Standards
+ Data / Technology Innovation
+ 24/7 Operations Center
+ Data Analysis
+ Debris Mitigation Implementation

"The Space Mobility Conference will continue to strengthen our ability to secure our Nation's interests with new technologies, and we look forward to the collaboration with our broad range of partners," Panzenhagen said.

Assured Access to Space (AATS) is the program executive office within Space Systems Command that is responsible for delivering next-generation launch and on-orbit capabilities in support of the warfighter, combatant commands, intelligence agencies, civil services, allied nations and the commercial space industry.

AATS is also responsible for range sustainment programs supporting launch and test customers. Innovation focus areas include sub-orbital rapid strategic mobility, on-orbit servicing and maneuvering, mission lifecycle management and tactically responsive launch.

Space Systems Command is the U.S. Space Force's field command responsible for acquiring and delivering resilient war fighting capabilities to protect our nation's strategic advantage in and from space.

SSC manages a $15 billion space acquisition budget for the Department of Defense and works in partnership with joint forces, industry, government agencies, academic, and allied organizations to accelerate innovation and outpace emerging threats. Our actions today are making the world a better space for tomorrow.
