Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), in collaboration with Netskope, a leading Security Access Service Edge (SASE) provider, has unveiled a groundbreaking Managed SASE solution for small to medium enterprises (SMEs). This joint effort aims to combine Hughes' expertise in managed services with Netskope's cutting-edge Security Service Edge (SSE) capabilities, offering Hughes customers an innovative SASE solution tailored to the needs of SMEs.

The Hughes Managed SASE solution is specifically designed for small and mid-sized enterprises headquartered in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It provides these businesses with a robust security posture comparable to that of larger enterprises, while still being cost-effective. The solution integrates Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) with all the essential elements of a comprehensive, cloud-delivered security framework. Additionally, customers have the option to seamlessly integrate the solution with existing SD-WAN deployments using Netskope SSE, thereby ensuring optimal security and network performance in today's complex business environment.

Addressing the challenges faced by organizations in managing numerous tools necessary for safeguarding sensitive data, Craig Robinson, Research Vice President of Security Services at IDC, emphasized the value of Hughes Managed SASE. He stated, "A solution like Hughes Managed SASE helps address that challenge, binding together the capabilities that protect data and applications regardless of where they are being used, along with the scalability, intelligent routing, and cost optimization of SD-WAN." Robinson further emphasized that a managed SASE offering provides additional peace of mind, especially for organizations looking to utilize managed or co-management options.

Dan Rasmussen, Senior Vice President of the Enterprise Division at Hughes, highlighted the advantages of Hughes Managed SASE in terms of secure data management across various endpoints. Rasmussen stated, "Hughes Managed SASE makes it turn-key to manage company data securely, wherever it's transmitted across a growing perimeter of endpoints that employees need to access in the office, on the road, and remotely." He added that the cloud-first security solution accommodates businesses at their current stage, whether they require a full SASE implementation or an add-on to an existing SD-WAN deployment, while also offering a clear path to a complete SASE solution at their own pace.

Dave Rogers, Senior Vice President of Global Alliances and Channel Sales at Netskope, emphasized the significance of the partnership between Hughes and Netskope. Rogers stated, "This new partnership between Hughes and Netskope brings together industry-leading pedigrees to deliver a fully managed, full-stack SASE platform." He further explained that as organizations navigate the challenges associated with remote work environments, SASE solutions have become vital for securing data and people anywhere. The partnership aims to expedite digital transformation while preserving network performance and business productivity, even in the era of innovative technologies like generative AI.

As part of the HughesON managed services suite, Hughes Managed SASE leverages cloud-native delivery to provide scalability, flexibility, and adaptability to meet evolving business needs. The solution encompasses all the features of a complete SASE framework, including Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Secure Web Gateways, Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and options like Managed Detection and Response (MDR). In addition, Hughes SASE customers benefit from round-the-clock security operations center (SOC) protection, incident response, and alert prioritization for early threat detection and mitigation.
