SSC has introduced SSC Go, a ground segment service built around a global network of 4 meter class antennas operating in S band, X band and Ka band for Low Earth Orbit missions. The service targets operators of small satellites and constellations that require frequent contact opportunities and rapid data return from spacecraft.

Through SSC Go, customers can access a set of ground stations located at Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden, the SSC site near the North Pole in Alaska, Inuvik in northern Canada, the Western Australia Space Centre and Punta Arenas in southern Chile. This distribution of sites is designed to provide coverage for a broad range of LEO orbits, with additional stations planned as demand grows.

The service is structured to lower entry barriers for newer and smaller operators by standardizing interfaces and offering what SSC describes as fast onboarding to the network. SSC Go uses centralized scheduling tools so mission teams can reserve contact windows across the participating stations rather than negotiating access with each site individually.

Ground stations in the SSC Go network support simultaneous dual polarization downlinks and can operate across S, X and Ka bands to handle both telemetry and high rate payload data. The system includes security features intended to protect command links and data handling, reflecting growing requirements for secure satellite operations.

"This is an important step for SSC in meeting the growing demand by expanding our business. SSC Go will be a great addition to our service portfolio and will provide great value for the SmallSat and constellation market," says Nick Priborsky, President of the Connect division at SSC.
