Gilat Satellite Networks has received $42 million in new orders from a major global satellite operator for its SkyEdge IV multi-orbit platform. The systems will be delivered over the next year, expanding Gilat's role in powering broadband connectivity across GEO, MEO, and LEO networks.

The company said the orders underscore the growing demand for flexible ground infrastructure to support next-generation satellite services. SkyEdge IV is designed for scalability and high efficiency, enabling operators to meet increasing data requirements in aviation, maritime, and enterprise sectors.

As airlines accelerate the adoption of free onboard Wi-Fi, the SkyEdge IV platform is becoming a preferred solution for In-Flight Connectivity (IFC). Its architecture supports seamless, high-speed broadband and reliable network transitions between orbital layers, addressing the surge in mobility-driven bandwidth demand worldwide.

"These orders highlight the strong confidence satellite operators have in Gilat's ground segment technology as they expand to meet the growing demand for global connectivity," said Ron Levin, President, Gilat Commercial Division. "SkyEdge IV continues to power the expansion of In-Flight Connectivity and other high-growth mobility applications, driving the evolution of the connected world."
