Job Description
Copernical.com is rapidly growing, and we need a skilled, responsive, and hardworking website developer who can take our site to the next level.
This position will require skills in various areas including website content management systems, internet security, SEO and website hosting platforms. It is desirable but not essential that you have some experience or exposure to the space industry in one or more fields in the space segment, ground segment, pace science, launchers, mission and operations domains.
The Copernical website developer will maintain the existing website, manage system backup and agreed resiliency strategies, resolve any operating errors and maintain all system components, modules and plugins to their latest compatible versions. This role will also implement website security and protection systems and ensure continual monitoring against cyber-attacks and hacking. This role will also analyse user feedback, implement agreed enhancements and ensure that the site security and privacy policy is enforced.
This role includes coordination with the internal Community Management team to support its mission, ensuring a safe and legal community environment, promoting excellent customer service and helping to cultivate a strong community around the brand.

Responsibilities
You will be working as part of a small team operating remotely across the world in a very strong entrepreneurial context. You will have robust and reliable local connectivity and equipment to carry the functions of this job. The environment is Joomla based within a dynamic growth environment with exposure to new technologies.
You will be responsible for optimising the existing website functions and features, error resolution, and development of future enhancements. The following tasks will be carried out:
- Evaluate and optimise the current website design architecture and implementation. Ensure balance performance and error free operation in the current user activity.
- Upgrade all system components with new version as and when necessary and ensure operating compatibility and security.
- Evaluate and maintain the security and protection of the all system against hacking, cyber-attack or other threats.
- Ensure that all user permissions and access are maintained and implemented correctly.
- Assess and implement new functions and features, propose new enhancements and generally update the site’s features as the community and technology grows.
- Manage the site’s interaction with other social media sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
- Monitor and mange the site’s hosting platform and confirmation, ensure the platform is operating to optimum levels.
- Monitor, manage and configure the site’s SEO parameters and ensure maximum effectiveness.
- Optimise the site navigation and general user experience.

- Good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, and a proactive approach.
